Amerigo Vespucci, another explorer who, inspired by the indians houses built on stilts on Lake Maracaibo, named the area Venezuela, meaning"Little Venice" Caracas is the capital of Venezuela. Its official language is spanish,but has numerous indigenous dialects. It is so rich in culture, food and beauty of its land and people.
